The Netherlands is a breeding ground for talented electronic dance music artists. Some of the biggest DJs on the planet are Dutch and there are plenty of younger musicians ready to carry the torch. These are the most famous Dutch DJs.
Fedde Le Grand
‘Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit’ was arguably one of the biggest singles of 2006. Fedde Le Grand is a frequent performer at electronic music festivals all over the globe such as Ultra Music Festival and TomorrowLand. He is well known for remixing popular artists like Michael Jackson, Coldplay and Mariah Carey.
Tiesto
There are few DJ’s as well known as Tiesto. He’s been active in the world of electronic dance music since 1994. Performing at the 2004 Olympic opening ceremonies, Tiesto has a Grammy to his name and was named Top DJ three years in a row by DJ Magazine. Basically, there isn’t anything this man hasn’t done. Tiesto also founded Black Hole Recordings alongside Arny Bink.
Armin van Buuren
‘A State of Trance,’ Armin van Buuren’s weekly radio show, has an average of 20 million listeners every episode. DJ Magazine may have named Tiesto Top DJ three years in a row but Armin van Buuren has won that spot a record of five times. As a producer, he’s worked towards bringing trance music to the forefront of electronic dance music. Armin van Buuren’s ‘Imagine’ was the first dance album to enter the Dutch music charts at number one.
Don Diablo
Don Diablo is not as recognizable as the other DJs on this list but he has been called the next Tiesto. His most recent endeavor is a visual collaboration with VSquared Labs called the ‘The Hexagon.’ The Los Angeles based creative company is also responsible for the visual shows of popular performers such as Skrillex. Don Diablo is currently living in London while he works on his next album, which should be released later this year.
