Headphones are crucial equipment for every DJ, but unfortunately they can be pricey. With prices sometimes reaching over $1,000 for high-end options, a great pair of headphones may seem unattainable for the aspiring DJ. However, if you are willing to give up a bit in sound quality to meet your price point, this list of the best DJ headphones under $50 will serve you well.

Koss TD85 Full Size DJ Headphones – $50

While these Koss headphones sacrifice some features many would find crucial to a pair of DJ headphones, they are a great option outside of earbuds. These lightweight noise-isolating headphones have an adjustable headband, large ear cushions and a moderate frequency range response. However, they do lack swiveling earcups, making monitoring playbacks more difficult. The TD85’s sturdy and streamlined construction also minimizes the risk of potential damage. Audiofly AF45 – $45

It is often said “you get what you pay for,” but with Audiofly’s AF45 in-ear headphones, you get a bit more than what their price leads you to first believe. These earbuds deliver smooth, powerful bass and clear high ends within an attractive design that’s available in a variety of colors. Who needs swiveling earcups and collapsible frames when you can easily crumple these in a pocket and be on to the next show?

Sennheiser CX 300-11 – $35

For aspiring DJs who can’t yet afford a pair of traditional over-ear Sennheiser headphones, the CX 300-IIs offer remarkable sound quality and superior comfort. Typically earbuds are the least comfortable of all headphone options. Shoving a tiny speaker into the deep recesses of your ear canal is never comfortable, but Sennheiser has taken a different approach to this common problem. Instead of the headphones resting mostly inside the ear, the CX 300-II’s do the opposite. While noise isolation is compromised, the listening experience is much more enjoyable.
