Electronic Music Artists Down With Uber

Quick, what are your favorite apps? If you didn’t say Uber and Spotify then you’re wrong. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own preferences but who doesn’t love unlimited music and cheap rides? As if that wasn’t enough these 2 apps recently partnered up and you won’t believe what electronic music artists are down with Uber.

The partnership between Uber and Spotify is fairly simple. Whenever you request a ride you will receive a notification that lets you know whether or not you can control the music in your car. If your driver is cool with you DJing and he has the technology, you will be able to jam to any of Spotify’s 20 million songs while riding in your Uber.

That sounds pretty awesome, right? Think about it, you’re pre-gaming with your friends before going out on a Friday night and when it’s time to leave you request an Uber. There’s no longer any need to put the party on hold while you’re headed to the club. Just throw on your favorite tunes and jam out.

To celebrate this recent musical partnership Uber is bringing in a special guest driver to the city of Los Angeles. Anyone who requested a ride on Friday, November 21 had the chance to be driven around LA by the one and only Diplo.

Uber as a company has always been very supportive of the EDM scene and this latest publicity stunt is evidence of that. It didn’t take a partnership with Spotify for electronic music artists to be down with Uber though. Dedmau5 drove around in his McLaren picking up people in Toronto. Martin Garrix was Uber’s DJ for one night in Amsterdam. Diplo is not the first EDM artist to join the ride-sharing family.

Uber and Spotify partnering up is a huge step forward for both companies. Chances are Diplo won’t be your driver if you request a ride but you’ll still have a ton of fun being a backseat DJ.
